You would buy Office directly from the Microsoft site where they have it available for download. No no CD or DVD required.
Thanks Gary
Spend the $79 and get the optical drive. You might even want to burn a CD or DVD some day.
The price at the Microsoft store is full price. You can buy retail at a lower price and use the CK key to activate the trial.

Office 2011 has different requirements than previous versions. In the past you could use 1 CD key to install on one desktop and one laptop. Now it only installs on one computer. You have to buy a pack for the number of installs you need. In addition H&S no longer includes Outlook. Entourage was discontinued.
See this link to help you pick the correct version.

Hello, I just bought my mac book air and would like to use the microsoft office 2008 I bought for my previous mac, since I have still 2 more installations. Nevertheless I have no cd/disc, and I have no idea about how to install this. Could you please help me?
Thanks,
Claudia
So are you missing the install discs, or do you just mean that your MacBook Air has no optical drive? If the latter, then you can use one of your other Macs to share the drive. See http://macmost.com/sharing-cds-and-dvds-between-macs.html
