How Do You Organize Bookmarks So They Are User Friendly?

Do you have a suggestion on how to best organize bookmarks/favorites? I am using an iMac and MacBook, each running El Capitan. Also, have several iOS devices running the latest OS. Since these bookmarks/favorites date as far back as 2009, I’m thinking of deleting most and starting over. I have used folders in the past, but now many are in the bookmarks bar. I feel that I’ve never learned how to correctly use bookmarks/favorites.
Thanks for your help!

Personally, I think bookmarks are a relic from the 90s. I still use them, but just a small list that are my "Favorites" and appear at the top of my browser in my Favorites bar.
I don't use them for much more than that. I find it easier to simply search for something and find it when I need it. When I need it again, I search for it again.
But if you want to use bookmarks I'd say it really is a personal thing -- arrange them in a way that suits your needs. Everyone is different and thinks differently about these kinds of things. Just create folders that make sense to you.
Or, another idea is to just put everything in one big bookmarks folder and not worry about it. Then, when you need something, search your bookmarks.

Thank you for your response! I'm going to stop worrying about Bookmarks and just use my Favorites bar. What a freeing feeling! Thanks again!
