I have four devices (1 iphone, 2 ipads, 1 iMac) all of them using one mobile phone number, the one of the iphone.
If my son wants to establish a facetime session he may want to be connected to one of my devices and not to all others.
Is there a way to do this? (Maybe something like virtual phone numbers …?)

How To Choose a Device for a FaceTime Call?

No, the caller doesn't get to decide which device to call. It is the receiver that gets to set up each device to accept calls, or not, as they wish. That is done in the Settings/Preferences for the app on each device.
I suppose if you had a few iCloud aliases and email addresses, and a phone number attached to your iPhone of course, that you could check and uncheck various boxes on each device and let the caller know which device accepts calls from which email address.
For instance, you could have your iPhone accept calls from email address A and not B. And then your Mac accept calls from B and not A. Then the person calling could know that.
But I'm not sure how well that would work in practice. Try it and see if you really want.
Another method would be to simply message you first: "I'm gonna call in a minute, I'd like to FaceTime with you on your iPhone if you can."
Gary, Thank You very much for your detailed description of the solution,
i did not try it so far, but one day i will do that
