How To Transfer, Wireless, a Folder With Several Photos From a PC To a Mac?

Please, I want to know how to transfer, through a wireless network, a folder containing several photos, from a computer with a Windows System to a MacBook Pro 15″, with macOS Mojave, Version 10.14.5.
Thank you for your help.

I'm going to assume that both computers are yours.

There are many ways to do this. One is to simply turn on file sharing for both computers. On the Mac side you need to go to System Preferences, Sharing, File Sharing and have that on, as well as SMB under Options. Then you need to enable it on the Windows side too -- not sure about the exact choices there, but I'm sure it is easy to find.
Then you should be able to see the computers on each file system and drag and drop the files.

Other options involve using cloud services. For instance, you could get a free Dropbox account on each computer and then the Dropbox folder is shared between them. But the files in there and you'll see them on both computers. This is easiest for situations where the computers may not be on the same network all the time, or one may not even be on all the time. You can use Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or any standard cloud service.

You can also use iCloud for this. If you have iCloud Drive already working on your Mac, you can just install iCloud for Windows. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204283 Then you can move the files to iCloud Drive (if they are not already there anyway). Then you can see those same files on the Windows side on iCloud Drive, and vice-versa.

The iCloud solution is the best one is you are using iCloud already and if the Mac is your main computer.

If the situation is that one computer is not yours and this is a one-time transfer, then I would try file sharing and then be sure to disconnect when done. You can also share a folder of files using Dropbox, between Dropbox accounts. You can always also use a cheap USB flash drive to do this, just format the drive ExFAT and both machines can use it.

    Hello Gary Rosenzweig,
Thank you very much for this response and for your help.
The situation is as follows: I have a friend of mine, of youth, who lives in France and who I suppose is a windows user.
He intends to send me, here to Porto, Portugal, some old photos of our musical group from 1980-2000.
Will it not be possible, for him, to create a specific folder containing the photos he intends to send me, compile it and send to me this compressed folder, by email?

José: Email will be tough if the file is large. I wouldn't use email. I would use the Dropbox solution. It would be free. You both just create a free account, he creates a shared folder with the files and shares it with you. Then the files will appear in that folder and you have them. If he is already using OneDrive or Google Drive, then he can just share a folder there and you sign up for the free tier of that service.

I'm going to tell him that.
    To you,
    THE BEST.
