Is It Best To Leave MacBook Air Charging?

I am trying to decide if I should let the battery on my macbook air run down or keep it plugged in. I am using El Capitan on a 2015 refurbished macbook air.

Keep it plugged in. Years ago laptop batteries had issues that were sometimes alleviated by running the battery until empty and then charging all the way back up. Some experts still recommend this but it really isn't necessary with modern MacBooks. I never do it. Apple no longer recommends it on their battery information page either.
I follow the basic rule of keeping my MacBook plugged in when it is at my desk. Then using the battery when I am not at my desk. And I don't plan or worry.
The big disadvantage of letting the battery run out is that sometimes you are caught in a situation where you want your MacBook, but it is low or dead.
