When I try to drag a photo to the desktop I get a circle with a line thru it. If I try to copy and paste the photo I get a Finder window saying the photo doesn’t exist. If I try to edit the picture I get a triangle with an explanation mark inside it. The photo is their but it’s not. I rebuilt the thumbnails but I’m not sure where to go after that accept to search thru Time Machine for a stable iPhoto folder. Any ideas?

Hard to say without looking at it. Are you sure that something hasn't happened to your iPhoto collection -- the photos are missing or corrupt? What happens when you try to export a photo with File, Export?
The picture is there and I can see it but when I try to export to the desktop it says: "unable to create/user/wallacet/desktop/009.jpg". It's not all photos but certain folders that I have a problem with.
Perhaps a user permissions issue. Are you logged in as user "wallacet"? Are you an admin? What happens when you try to File, Export? Maybe to somewhere else like your Documents folder?
