There must be a way to show what any font looks like when it is selected in Pages v6.2?

Not sure what you are looking for specifically here. When you go to select a font from the Format sidebar, each font is displayed with its name and it that font. Is that what you mean?
What I meant is that is there a way to actually see what any particular font visually looks like as it is selected or clicked on?
Dennis: Besides the method I just mentioned in the previous comment? You could use the Font Book app on your Mac to browse through them.
Dennis: In Mac version of Pages, select menu item Format: Font: Show Fonts (Command T) then in the resulting dialog, select the "Show Preview" menu item under the Settings menu (the menu with the gear icon). With that, you'll then see the selected font family name displayed in the pane above the selection lists in the typeface, size, and other characteristics (e.g. color) selected.
If the font size is very big, you will have to hover over the horizontal line and drag it down to show the "Preview" of the font.
