Was wondering if I could, and how to upgrade my MacBook Pro (late 2008) to the latest MacOS, even though it is not on the approved list? Is it even advisable? Hope so, like many of the new features. Thanks!

No, then there's no way to upgrade a machine unless it meets the requirements. And you wouldn't want to force it, even if there was a way. I guess it is time to start thinking about a new Mac! 8 years is pretty good.
