What’s the Best Solution for External Hard Drive?

In the past year I’ve purchased two Seagate 2 TB external hardrives and 1 Seagate 5 TB external hardrive. All have gone defunct. I’ve used them with Time Machine and as a place to backup most of the files/folders from my computer. I use a MacBook Pro with Mac OS Catalina Vers 10.15.1

Don't know which models you purchased, but I have two Seagates as well that have been working for years without a problem. A 2 TB model for external storage and a 4 TB one for Time Machine. Coincidentally, I ordered a 5 TB Seagate just this morning as my 2 TB one isn't enough anymore. These daily videos really take up a lot of space.

Western Digital (WD) is another good brand you can try. LaCie too.

Would you be in a position to recommend a 6-foot UBS 3.0 Cable for my Seagate Backup Plus 4TB portable external hard drive? Thanks for your help.

Don: I don't have any specific recommendations. I think Amazon usually has some "Amazon Basics" cables for this sort of thing.
