Convert JPG To HEIC In Batch?

I’ve got thousands of files that I would like to convert to heic. Half jpg and half raw. I have looked for a batch program that would output to heic format. If lightroom supported heic output I wouldn’t have a problem. Anyone know of a program that can do this? I’ve seen a few automator scripts that attempt to do this with preview but most seem to break down and not work properly judging by the online responses.

I tried to build a simple Automator Quick Action to do this. It works, but gives an error. It is just "Copy Finder Items" (to make a duplicate) and then "Change Type of Images" to HEIC. I seems to work but then gives an error message.

So I tried the same thing as a Folder Action. For that I created a special folder and applied the workflow to it. But I only used "Change Type of Images." So the idea is any file I put in this special folder, it will convert. I works too, no error, but doesn't delete the original file. That isn't too big of a problem as you can just delete those later. Give it a try.

Could you put a copy of that action here?

Kay: Which one? The Folder Action or the Quick Action? Either way, they are easy to build, just one or two things to add depending on which one. I name them above.

The Folder action since as you said the Quick Action gives an error.
    Thanks in advance.

Kay: For that, you only need on thing in the Folder Action: “Change Type of Images.” Just create a new Folder Action, apply it to the folder you created for this purpose, and add “Change Type of Images” to it. Set it to HEIC.

Almost worked. I exported 37,000 photos from my lightroom library to a folder with the change action. Only about 300 were converted. I had 10 popup windows that each said "The application "ScriptMonitor.app" is not open anymore. So I deleted everything and tried again with only 938 files. The result was 358 converted and again one popup "The application "ScriptMonitor.app" is not open anymore. So I tried just dragging and dropping about 60 jpg files and got no popup message but only 1 conv
