In the Apple Mail app I no longer see a Reply or a Forward icon in the preview column. Is there a way of adding that feature back in.

Has the Forward & Reply Icon In the Preview Column Been Removed In Mail?

I think what you mean are the small buttons that appear just below the header information in the viewing area of Mail. There is this top header area with the sender, subject line, and other fields like "To" depending on what information came with the email and your settings. Then there is a line, and then the body of the email.
If you move your cursor over this dividing line, four small buttons are revealed in the center: Trash. Reply, Reply All and Forward. Is that what you mean?
Try moving your cursor to this line to reveal them. Of course you can just use the same larger buttons in the toolbar for these as well.
Thank you for the quick Reply. I am aware of the icons you described, and find it extremely handy. I have upgraded to Mohave and that's when the icons I mentioned disappeared. Below is a screenshot all of the icon inside a red box I tried to describe. When I Reply or Forward a message then leave the original message in the Inbox, the appropriate icon no longer appears. I looked in Help and iMac Essentials to no avail.
Donald: You'll need to post the images online using iCloud or perhaps Imgur.com for me to see them. But did you try what I mentioned? Did you move the cursor over that spot?
Open Mail, go to the View Menu and then "Customize Tool Bar." That is where you will see the Forward, Reply tools. Be sure you have "Show Tool Bar" from the same menu or you will not see them.
I called Apple and was told this is a "bug" they are working on. My iMac is new, it affects machines that upgraded to Mohave also.
Don: So my suggestion in my first comment didn't work for you? It works for me 100% of the time. Just got to move the cursor there and the buttons appear.
