I have the Do Not Disturb feature set when I go to bed. However I have configured it to allow calls from people in my favorites to go through. Can this be done with Notifications? There are a few apps that alert me to things like water leaks or emergencies that I would like to receive even when the Do Not Disturb is activated.
How can I do this without turning all notifications off except for the ones I want to come through at night?

There is no way to do that. App notifications are all silenced with Do Not Disturb.
Does your app that notifies you of water leaks have the option to send you a text message? I know I have a similar function with my home security app. If so, you could then use that and set the number as a Favorite.
