How Do I Automatically Update the Current Date On a Pages Doc?

How do I automatically update the current date on a Pages document.
I use a standard document created from a blank Pages doc.
The date has it’s own field.
I would like it to update to the current day’s date whenever I open the document.
How do I do it?
thanks

To put a date and time field in your Pages document, you usually use Insert, Date & Time. That's either how you did this, or how it as originally created in the document.
You can Control+click or right+click on this field to get a context menu. Then select Edit Date & Time... from this menu. This lets you set the format for that date, and also you can check a box so it automatically updates the date. You can force an update with a button there too.
