How Do I “Bulk” Delete Photos From Text Messages?

I try to delete photos from texts as soon as I send them. I recently was doing a search in messages and found that I had a tremendous amount of photos in the message apps. Most pics are not needed and I would like to delete them. From this search in messages I cannot delete them. Any suggestions.
Thanks

You have a few options depending on your goal.

Is your goal to reduce the use of space on your device? Then are you using Messages in iCloud? On the Mac that is in the Messages app, Preferences. On iOS, you can find it in Settings, iCloud. This will store your messages in iCloud and should offload older images. For instance, if I look on my iPhone at very old messages with images I'll see a button to download them again if I want to see them.

Also, to free up space you have settings to automatically remove messages older than 30 days or one year. That will remove the images too, of course. This can save a lot of space. Some people like that, and others want to keep their messages around forever. I don't know which you prefer.

If you want to simply delete images and leave the conversations around, you can go to a conversation tap on the name at the top and then info (iOS) or the Details button on Mac. Then you can look at the images there. On iOS you need to tap See All. You can then delete one or many. On iOS you need to tap Select and select the ones to delete and then tap Delete. On Mac you click to select or Shift-click to select a range and then press the delete key.
