Forum Question: How Do I Change My Microsoft Office Documents From Using Dark Background?

My documents always use a dark background since using Mojave. How do I change back to a normal light background?

    Are you using dark mode with Mojave? System Preferences, Appearance, Dark? If so, then many apps will follow along and use their own dark mode once they see you have chosen this as a system preference.

    Try turning off Dark Mode and see if that is the problem.

    If you want to use Dark Mode on your Mac, but want to have it turned off for Word, then you may need to resort to tinkering with some settings. Hopefully Microsoft will simply add this as an option in an update soon. Until then, see:
