I would like to change the number of rings on my iPhone 10 from 4 to 6 before it goes to voicemail. I have been told that this can only be done by ATT, my carrier. The people with ATT that I have contacted, both online and at a store don’t seem to know what I’m talking about. Is it possible you might know a solution to this issue

I think that is right. Voicemail is handled by the carrier, not your iPhone. Have you looked on your account on the AT&T site? I found this, but I'm not sure if it is mobile or landline information:
