I am viewing/reading a pdf file. It’s several pages of instructions and is in landscape format on the Mac. If I view with my iPad, via Dropbox, in landscape the document turns to portrait, so whichever way I turn the iPad I cannot read it as it rotates. How can I stop the iPad screen rotating? Help please.

I think if you are reading the PDF in DropBox, then you are using DropBox as the "viewer" app, is that right? You may want to use the Share button or whatever the DropBox app has to export the PDF into another app like iBooks to see if it behaves better there. Or, just export it to iCloud Drive and try that. It could be that the PDF itself has been designed wrong and needs to be rotated, in which case it may look wrong everywhere. Or, it could be a problem with DropBox. You'll have to experiment to find out.
Otherwise, you can simply turn on the orientation lock on your iPad. That's one of the main buttons in Control Center. So swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up Control Center and look for the Orientation Lock button. It looks like a padlock with a circular arrow around it.
Many thanks Gary. I am viewing the document through the Dropbox app on my iPad. It is fine on the Mac. However now you have pointed me to the orientation lock in the Control Centre on the iPad the problem is sorted. 😃
