How Do I Convert and Save iMessages As PDF Documents?

I asked this question at the Apple Store and they said “You have to use an APP. Google which one to get”
There are several and I am confused.
This is just for a text message I would like to save to a folder once in a while . I don’t want one that is either real expensive or too complicated.

    You don't need to use any app to do this. Unless I am misunderstanding what you want, you can do this in the Messages app.
    If all you want is to export a conversation in Messages to a PDF, then just go to that conversation and choose File, Print. Then in the Print dialog, choose PDF at the bottom left and then Save As PDF.
