How Do I Keep a Mail “Pop Up” From Jumping On To My Mac Desktop Screen?

No matter what App I have open, in short order the Mail app shows up as well. I can delete it, but it would be nice to keep this intruder in its place. The advice I get online does not work for me. Your ideas will be warmly welcomed.

Do you mean a notification? A small box at the top right corner of the screen? Hard to say with what you are describing. I would hardly call it an "intruder" -- it is your Mac telling you that you received an email message.

You don't mention what advice you got online and what you tried, but if you don't want the Mail app to tell you that you got an email, you can turn that notification off just like any other. Go to System Preferences, Notifications, then look for Mail. Then turn it off or set the "Mail alert style" to None.

Even with so little information, you hit the nail on the head. Problem solved. Thank you.
