How Do I Keep My iPhone From Ringing When the Call Is To My Wife’s iPhone?

I recently switched to an iPhone from android and inherited my wife’s phone while she got a new one. I often get text and phone alerts on my phone that are meant for her. When I delete a contact on my phone, it also disappears on hers. How can I fix this?

There are lots of things to check. The easiest way may be to take your phone to the Apple Store and let the Genius Bar check it.
But you can start by looking in the Settings for iCloud, Messages and FaceTime. Make sure it is your Apple ID account signed in, not hers. Same for Settings, Contacts. In some cases you can have multiple accounts, so remove hers and keep only yours. Check Notes, Calendar, Reminders and iTunes too.
To avoid this, you should have restored the iPhone to factory settings when you took it over, and set it up as a new phone with your Apple ID. Maybe it isn't too late for that? If you haven't saved too much data to the phone, you may want to consider it.
