How Do I Know Where Emails Are In Mail?

After using “search” in Mail, emails meeting the criteria are displayed but their locations (folders) are not located. How do I find the folder they are saved in?

I see that at the very top of the message, at the center, in between the from address at the left and the time and date at the right.

But it may differ if you are using local folders in the Mail app instead of server "mailboxes." There are a lot of options as to how to organize your mail and I'm not sure how you have it set up.

Gary, thanks for the speedy reply. I set up "Mailbox(s)" (in the Mail app, Mailbox>New Mailbox) to organize my emails. Does that help?

TheTrainRev: What about my initial response? Do you see the mailbox of the selected message in that location on the screen.?
