How do I make a copy of the names of the files in the DIRECTORY of an ext. HD to use as reference to find files. I would like to make a file copy of the list and be able to print it out as well. I am not looking to copy the actual files.
Macbook Air 2013 … Mojave.

You don't need to print, of course, just save the file.
Thanks Gary .. the last suggestion -- copying to printer works just fine and easy! I always worry about going into the terminal - afraid I will mess up something in the computer itself.
