How Do I Remove Double Spacing From Signature In Email?

I am using a mac book. When I go to preferences in my mail and type out the signature I want to go with every email I send out it looks ok in the signature section, but then when I go to send an email this is how it looks:

A

B

C

D

My question is how do I format it in my preferences so it looks like this:

A
B
C
D

That's odd. I see a lot of people complaining about this in Apple forums, at least a few years ago. But they are all copying and pasting signatures from Microsoft Word. But you say you are typing the signature out.
Maybe try a few things. First, try creating a new signature, not editing the one you are currently trying to get to work. Another idea: try typing it out in TextEdit, but set the document to Plain Text not Rich Text in the Format menu. Then copy and paste this plain text signature into a new signature and see if that works.
Also, when you send out an email, does the text actually contain extra blank lines between each item, or is it just one lines that have a lot of height? To test, try copying it from the email (send one to yourself and copy the text in the one you get) and pasting into TextEdit. Then use the up and down arrows to figure out if there is a blank line between them.
