How Do I Reorganize Favorites and Bookmarks In Big Sur?

I haven’t had to move Favorites around in Safari in a long time. I forget how to create favorites folders and move bookmarks around in them. Can you send some guidance.

In Safari, go to Bookmarks, Edit Bookmarks. This takes you to a whole interface for organizing your bookmarks. You can see a list of everything you have. The Favorites folder matches what you see in the Favorites Bar and also in Favorites on your Start Page. The Bookmarks Menu contains the bookmarks at the bottom of the Bookmarks item in the menu bar. The other folders would be any you created, that you also see in the Bookmarks menu and also in the Bookmarks sidebar.

Just click on the links and names to change them. Drag the rows up and down and into folders to organize. There's a button at the top to create a new folder. You can drag folders around and rename them just like the bookmarks themselves.

Thank you. As soon as I went to edit Bookmarks (I was looking for edit Favorites) it all came back to me. You get good at the things you do over and over, and the reverse is true, you forget what you do not repeat (or rarely do). Again, thank you.

If I may add, I just discovered that within the Edit mode you can Right Click a folder and get the option to order the bookmarks within either by name or by link. For someone like me who has too many bookmarks, this is very useful. Note that newly added bookmarks will not reorder the folder automatically.

You can drag horizontally in your Favorites Bar to reorder.
