How Do I See My Bookmark List When I Use My Cursor To Auto-Open the Sidebar?

I open my Safari sidebar to see bookmarks list but all I get is a bookmark symbol. I have to select the symbol to open the bookmark list. Is there a way to have the bookmarks list open when I slide my cursor over to auto-open sidebar?

I want to see my bookmark list opened when I move my cursor over to auto-open the sidebar.

Doesn't look like that is an option. Use Bookmarks, Show Bookmarks instead. Assign a custom keyboard shortcut to it if you like.

Or, to do it without the keyboard, do what I do and use the Favorites Bar. All of my bookmarks are in there, arranged in folders.

Safari 15 on Catalina now has this failing (among others) but Control-Command-1 is a toggle that will show/hide the favorites or bookmarks sidebar directly.

Annoying and utterly confounding change in Safari 15 - why do Apple do it?
