How Do I Use Memoji As Mac User Icon?

I recently reinstalled MacOS Mojave on my iMac. I was pleased to see that the OS used my Memoji as my user icon; unfortunately, it won’t do the same for my wife’s. Do you know how I would go about manually changing her icon to the Memoji? Right now it’s set to one of the defaults (the penguin). She has the Memoji linked to her iCloud on all her devices.

So you set a still of your Animoji as your user icon using, I assume, iOS 13 on your iPhone. In the Messages app. Is that correct? Did your wife do the same -- iOS 13 on her iPhone? Animoji is an iOS thing, so it would be done on the iPhone in iOS 13. When you are done, you "strike a pose" and the result is just an image. Then you have to tap the button "use everywhere" or something of that sort, when you are done.

Yes, I used the still as my user icon on my iPhone (iOS 13) in the Messages app. My wife did the same (also on her iPhone). She struck a pose and then chose to "use everywhere," which worked in the sense that the icon attached to her iCloud account as well as her contact card. Unfortunately, it didn't transfer to the Mac user account, despite the latter being attached to her iCloud account. Weird, isn't it?

Michael: Is her contact card set to be "Make This My Card?" It works for me, Mojave too.

It is. Obviously, this isn't the end of the world. I wonder if it's a bug or else something I'm missing?

Not sure if this helps, but I had the same problem with my iPhone and Mac user icon. I looked in the “Contact App” on the Mac and saw it uses a different contact name then the phone. The Mac uses my first and last name, whereas the phone uses just my first. So I just update the Mac contact icon from the phone and it works. Take care.

    Hi Gary,

I was having the same issue. It seemed as if my Mac had made a customer contact card which I deleted while off wifi. Then I edited my contact card on my iPhone and it then synced to my Mac when I enabled wifi again. My iCloud contact card had my mimoji image and changed it for my entire Mac.
