How Often Should I Reboot My Modem?

At this time, here in our condo, we are saddled with an AT&T provided modem. They recommend a periodic reboot. Any thoughts on the good and bad of a reboot?

Impossible to say for sure. It depends on the modem and other things, which would be specific to your situation.

But it doesn't hurt to reboot it, right? Especially if it is done automatically. The model I use today (provided by my ISP) seems to work fine without reboots. But in the past I have had bad ones and I hooked them up to a $10 digital lamp timer. You know, the kind that people use to make lamps go on and off so it looks like they are home. I just set it to go off at 2:59 am and back on again at 3:00 am every day. Then I didn't have to think about it.
