How to appear on the network?

I have a MacBook and a MBA on my home network. In the Finder window sidebar on the MacBook, the MBA is listed. In the Finder window sidebar on the MBA, the MacBook is not listed. What setting is that?

    System Preferences, Sharing, File Sharing. Plus, press the Options button there and make sure you have AFP turned on.
