I’m using Mojave 10.14.4, Numbers v.6.0. I can make the text in the Table large, but when the formula comes up the text size is small. This is where I can easily have a typo. Is there a way to increase the size of the text in the formula field. I guess I could use the zoom picture to check each one. Just curious.

No, I don't believe there is any way. You can always use the Zoom feature in System Preferences, Accessibility to do it. Or, copy and paste the formula into TextEdit. Though without the colors it is probably even harder to read.
