I was wandering weather there is a way of showing two different sets of footage side by side in a movie for free… I don’t want to buy new software but i dont mind downloading as long as I can pass it to imovie afterwards… I’d appreiciate some answers and links if you can.. Thanks for the help…

Well, you probably have to spend either time or money -- your choice. For instance, you could work carefully with iMovie and the picture-in-picture feature to get it done. But it will take a lot of time. You could also try playing the two videos back side-by-side and screen recording them with QuickTime X.
