Using Keynote & side-by-side techniques instead of just stills

In using cutaways or side-by-sides I am going to use alot of Keynote plates assembled with video. This is political in nature so I wanted to make a point by having video played over a Keynote frame that has a quote. Is this possible?

    I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do. What do you mean by "Keynote plate" -- a still of a Keynote slide? Or, what do you mean by a video playing over a Keynote frame? Do you just want text over the video?
    Maybe you could step back and explain what you want your video to look like.
