  1. Are you trying to do that with iPhoto? Use iMovie instead, if you wanted fixed timing. See episode 325: http://macmost.com/custom-slideshows-with-titles-using-imovie.html

hi gary thanks for your kind support what igot to understand is that 1)1st i prepare the slide show of poems in key note then add music and then record slideshow to set the timings 2) export as quick movies then3) export as imovies 4) then import it in i dvd make the menu and titles etcc.5).and burn the dvd
is that the right method please confirm also i am stuck after exporting in i movies i do not know how to proceed further-thanks

    • Two things. First, you don’t need step 3. Once you export the video from Keynote, you can just import that into iDVD to make your DVD.
Second, there is no “right method” to do this. Keynote, iMovie, iPhoto and iDVD are all creative tools. There are many ways to do what you are trying to do. But based on what I know, this would be a good way to try. Once you get to know these tools better, you will be able to create all sorts of things like this with lots of variation. These are artistic tools, not construction tools.

So you have already put together the slides in Keynote? You didn’t mention that before. That’s going to make thing very difficult. You really have two options: complete the slideshow in keynote and dont’ use iMovie at all. Or, forget keynote and start again in iMovie.
If you stay in keynote, I would add a soundtrack to your slideshow andf then use the Record Slideshow option to manually advance the slideshow as the song plays. After you have recorded the slideshow, you can then export into QuickTime keeping the timing of your recorded session.
