They should be on by default. But you can check by going to System Preferences, Trackpad. All of the gestures available to you are there. You can enable or disable specific ones.
Now if you have an older MacBook, then you may not have a trackpad that supports all (or any) of the gestures. Likewise if you use a mouse.
