Is There a Bento DB Replacement?

I bought and am using Bento on my phone based on your recommendations. It’s great and used to work well but it was discontinued. It now causes slowdown warnings, data limitations and is starting to crash periodically. Do you recommend a replacement, and have a how-to to move all my records over?

I recommended that as a good app back in 2010, but that was a long time ago and as you noted they don't make it anymore.
As for a replacement, that really depends on what you are using it for. Databases can be used for so many things. Perhaps there is an app that does exactly what you need instead of building your own database? Respond with the details of what you are trying to accomplish and I'll see if I can suggest something.

As close as possible to the same functionality and use as bento - including encrypting data without paying the outrageous price for FileMaker. Being able to create and update on the iPhone, sync with my computer abd with my iPad.

IMHO, Tapforms ( https://www.tapforms.com ) seems to be a very good alternative (exists on Mac, iPhone and iPad).

Rick: No, I mean WHAT are you using it for? Keeping track of your DVD library? A HR database for a Fortune 500 company? Keeping track of results of scientific experiments? A bird-watching diary?
