Mac Mini Sound very Low

The sound on my Mac Mini is very low. I do not use it that often. I have just had my iMac sent away to get repaired, and then i went on the Mac Mini, and the volume is very low.
Could you help Gary

Do you have speakers hooked up to your Mac mini? If so, you should. There is a little speaker inside the case, but it is not meant for anything else but alert sounds.
So you should hook up a set of "PC speakers" -- which usually include a small amplifier etc.

No i do not have any speakers hooked up. Its an old Mac Mini and i have not added any thing since i bought it. I have heard that you need a special tool to open it up. I am only using it because my iMac is away for the fourth time to get the screen replaced. ( Thats one big problem) I will get my son to deal with this, about the speakers. Thanks Again Gary

I'm not talking about opening it up. I mean hook up a set of PC speakers to the audio jack. Like you would for headphones.
