How to Get Rid Of Menu Bar Clutter On MacBook Pro?

Hey Gary been using Macs for a few years now and always been iMacs, so “space” was never an issue. But since I bought a 13″MacBook Pro and I have a few Menu Bar Extras such as iStat Menus, which take up the most, how do I see those other Extras?

For any icons that are part of OS X, you can Command+Drag them out of the menu bar. But for those from third-party tools, you have to go into the preferences for each of those and look for the option to show or hide the menu bar icons.

I have this problem too. Whilst I know that icons can be shown or hidden, that's not a perfect solution. I use all of mine and want them all accessible all the time. That's a problem especially when certain apps have many menus in the menu bar and conceal some of the icons. Is anyone aware of Ann app to manage the icons - something that allows them to be nested? I've looked but never found anything (hint, hint developers out there).

I see what you mean. You want to keep them there, but there simply isn't room in the menu bar for them all. No solution I know of. On my 11-inch MacBook Air I get rid of as many as I can (ones I can easily access other ways) and shorten others (like the date) to make as much room as possible.
