I’ve been using JAM Software’s Smart Alarms X for years and I found it to be the best reminder/alarm system in existence. Sadly, it has reached end of life with OS 10.7. Does anyone familiar with this app have any suggestions for a replacement?

Can you summarize what that software does? For those of us who haven't used it, it is hard to suggest a replacement. I assume it has something to do with setting alarms, but you can do that with the system clock and with iCal. What does this software do that is different?
Smart Alarms allows the user to set one-time or periodic alarms. The alarms are in the form of pop ups, events being launched, or it will send an email. If you wish to be reminded again when an alarm sounds, it offers a more robust set of options and keyboard shortcuts than iCal. ("Tell me again on a specific date at a specific time"...all with shortcuts.) Also, there are far more options when setting a periodic reminder (like "last Tuesday of the month" or "4th Thursday of November.")
In short, it's like iCal event alarms... but on steroids!

Gerson, Did you find a substitute? My client is in the same boat (long-time Smart Alarms user getting a new Mac). Thanks. I'll post if we find something at our end besides iCal.

Just spoke with the publisher Jam Software in Sidney, Australia and they have confirmed that they have already received several requests from other parts of the world. While they have no definitive plans yet, I suggest everyone urge them to update it to Lion by contacting them at http://www.jamsoft.com.au
Use email or, even better, call! It IS the best alarms program in existance. Nothig else comes even close and for now I'm stuck in Snow Leopard.
Let's get this going again. I can't imagine life without Smart Alarms (been using it for many, many years).
Send JAM Software an email asking them to update it!
Have you tried 'NotifyMe' at http://notifymecloud.com/ ? This is an app that syncs across Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It looks to have a lot of the features of Smart Alarms. Haven't tried it yet, but would love input from anyone that has experience with it.
I too need a program as wonderfully designed as Smart Alarms which I've used for more than 15 years. Any recommendations?
