I have iOS 5 on my iPhone 3GS and have attempted to use iMessage to text another person using the iOS 5 system but the text is enclosed in a green bubble instead of a blue bubble. It is my understanding that text inside a green bubble signifies that I am in the pay-to-text mode. ... (9 Comments)

I noticed my webcam light was lit up on our MacBook even though no chatting app was running. I restarted, but light came back on. So I shut down instead. I pressed the power button. That was, like, a 1/2 hour ago. I still have the gray screen with the Apple logo and spinning ... (6 Comments)

I am on 10.6.8 with all software updated. I am playing music that I ripped from my CDs to Apple Lossless. I checked Activity Monitor and the CPU activity is low, nothing overly taxing. After hearing a skip, I dragged the playhead back, and on re-play there’s no skipping. I ... (4 Comments)

I just upgraded my iPhone4 and iPad2 to iOS5. I was somewhat surprised to see it used 4gb & 7gb of free space on the 4 and 2 respectively. Is this to be expected, or did I have bad installs? This is the 1st iOS upgrade that used a large amount of my devices free space, let ... (6 Comments)

The launch of the iPhone 4S mirrored previous iPhone launches with long lines, sell-outs and broken sales records at AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. A reported 4 million units were sold over the weekend. The downside was slow and problematic activation for the new phones, with some people having to wait hours before they could use them.
In Apple’s quarterly report it showed new highs for Mac sales with almost 5 million Macs being sold in the last quarter. This is despite the sale of more than 11 million iPads, some of which may have been purchased instead of a new Mac.
Wall Street wasn’t impressed with Apple’s numbers. Even though they passed Apple’s own estimates, they missed the estimates of Wall Street analysts. This was mostly because of lower iPhone sales due to the fact that a new iPhone model wasn’t released until after the end of the quarter.
