I will be purchasing a new 27″ iMac soon and I am a little confused over which would be better. Should I get the faster clockspeed of the 3.06Ghz Core 2 Duo or get the quad core 4 i5 with only 2.66Ghz?
Which is really the faster (ie. better) processor? 3.06Ghz Core 2 or quad core i5 2.66Ghz??
Help??

The quad core is better in the long run. There will be plenty of cases where you see little difference. But if you want to spend the extra money on more power, then the quad core will handle more calculations per second, which will equal more power and probably a longer time until the Mac becomes out-of-date.
Thanks for the great advice Gary! I think I will go for the quad core. Just wish they would come out already. What is taking Apple so long?
Also wanted to say great job on the new book! I got mine from Amazon a while back and really got a lot of good info. Just need my new iMac now to practice all that you teach!
Thanks again,
