It depends on how you plan to use it, and your budget.
But if you don't plan on taking it out of the house, then an Air would be a bit of a waste. You get less computer for more money. The only advantage is weight and size, which is a big advantage if you are moving around a college campus all day or traveling for work constantly. But if you are going to stay home, then why not get more computer for your money?
