Why delete kernel cache?

One of the options in Onyx is to delete the kernel cache.

Why would you or wouldn’t you do this?

    Are you having problems? If not, then there is no reason to clear your kernel cache. The only reason I know of to do so would be if you Mac is experiencing some problems then clearing the kernel cache would be one of many things that a fix-it guy would try.
    In all my years of using Macs I have never had to do this.
