In iMovie, can you convert multiple clips from the same video at the same time or at least un-attended?

What do you mean by "convert."
If I have a 1 hour mp4 video, how can I render five 12min mp4 clips in a single process? Do I have to export each one individually and wait before starting the next?
Yes. In iMovie you can only export one at a time.
Not what I wanted to hear ... Do you know of another app that might work? Thanks for your help.
Well, you could do it in QuickTime 7 Pro. Maybe even QuickTime X. And you could open it up 5 times and do 5 exports at the same time. But each export would go slower so I'm not sure how much time you would save from just doing each one sequentially.
But why is this a problem to do in iMovie? Just start a project and drag the first 12 minutes into the project. Export. Then drag the next 12 minutes. Export that. There are only 5, so it wouldn't take that long.
There are probably third-party video editing apps that do this, but I couldn't tell you which ones do this specific thing.
I'm a "new user" so please forgive my ignorance, but the first clip I export may take 15 min to complete (convert), the next may be a couple minutes longer and take 20 minutes, etc ... Do I have to wait for the first to finish before dragging the second or can I drag them all at once and go do something else?
You'll have to wait for the each to export, yes. But you'll still finish faster than if you took the time to research, install, and then learn another tool.
