I have a MacBook Pro with 2 users, myself and my wife. How do i access some of my wife’s music to be seen in my iTunes? I dont want to import the CD again into my user login thus creating duplicate files. As far as i know i have turned on file sharing but if i go through FINDER to mey wife’s iTunes music it has a “no entry” sign on it. By the way I am on Lion.

How To Access/import Into iTunes Another User’s Music On the Same Mac

One way is to put the music in a shared location, like the Shared folder in the users folder, or some external drive.
Then, turn off "organize" and "copy" options in your iTunes preferences and you can both add these files to your iTunes collections by dragging and dropping them into iTunes. It won't copy the files, just link to them, as long as you have those two preferences set correctly.
