Like Microsoft, Apple and Google, Yahoo! now has its own browser — and it is an iOS browser as well as on Macs and PCs. The Yahoo! Axis browser has some interesting features such as visual search results and syncing your position across devices. It is free and worth checking out as an alternative to the built-in Safari browser.

Unfortunately, aparently, it's not available in Australia. I could not find in App Store and the link goes to nowhere.
Thanks for the hint though... I'll check again when I'm in transit.
How do I remove Yahoo Axis from my macbook pro, OSX 10.8 ?
So I assume you mean the Safari extension named "Yahoo! Axis?" (The original post here is about the iOS app).
To get rid of any extension in Safari, go to Safari, Preferences. Then Extensions. Then select the extension and click its uninstall button.
I already checked extensions but "Yahoo Axis" is not there, yet it is the first thing I see when I open Safari ... it has to go
Make sure you are looking in the right place. This is not Safari, Safari Extensions. It is Safari, Preferences. THEN click Extensions at the top of the preferences window. From what I have read, it should be there.
Or, perhaps you are simply going to a web page when you first run Safari? So the extension isn't there, it is just set as your home page? In Safari, Preferences, General check your "homepage."
Your last suggestion was on target; "Yahoo Axis" somehow made itself my Safari home page. I changed it back as per your suggestion and it works again.
Thank you
