Custom Lock Screen Message

In Lion you can create a custom message that appears with the login prompt. Go to System Preferences, Security & Privacy, General and then turn on “Show a message when the screen is locked.” If you have a portable Mac, why not add a message there with your contact info? A good samaritan who finds a lost laptop may return it.

Great tip Gary..... I tried to use the <span> tag to change the font color, however it did not work. Do you know any work arounds to get the font to change ? I removed the original "NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroundColor.png" and replaced it with my own photo (Ocean Pic) The current font color in Lock screen is rendering in "white" I assume "white" is the default color.

I don't really think that is an HTML text area. It is just plain text. So you can't really set the colors.
