Disable Caps Lock

The Caps Lock key isn’t something people really need any longer, unless you have a very angry email response to send. Prevent yourself from accidentally turning on Caps Lock by disabling the key in System Preferences, Keyboard. Go to the Keyboard tab and then look for the Modifier Keys button. From there you can set the Caps Lock Key to “No Action.”

Just curious Gary, if I disable the Caps Lock key, can a different function be assigned to that key? For instance, can it be used to bring up your Finder?

Since it is a modification key (shift, option, control, command, caps lock) instead of an action key (letter, number, spacebar) I don't think so. Maybe some third-party software will be able to do it.
