hi gary i made a mail box also made a smart mailbox now i wish to delete the remaing mail i could not do it i selected all mail and pressed delete but the mails are still there not deleted!!

Not sure what you mean. Are you trying to delete the messages from the smart mailbox? Try deleting them instead from the actual location where they reside -- the real mailbox where they are located. Smart mailboxes are just updated searches and not real mailboxes.
no i am trying to delete from real mail box
So you delete them from your real mailbox (so why did you mention the smart mailbox?) -- and they don't delete? They just stay there? Does anything happen at all?
This might be the sort of thing where you need a Mac expert to take a look at what you are doing in person to see what might be going on.
