Since installing Lion, a DBG Log appears on the desktop with every startup. I have looked in Console but can’t find a way to stop the constant log from appearing. Thanks

Is that the exact name of the file? "DBG Log?"
I can't seem to find any mention of a file by that name.
It appears to be associated with "Console....All Messages". When I open the desktop icon the top indicates "DBGLog-082111_6180535.log". The last 6 digits change with each icon message on the desktop.
When you look in the files is there anything that indicates which application may be creating them? What do some of the lines inside the files look like?
These are a few of the lines inside the files from today:
8/22/11 10:26:28.000 AM kernel: IOSurface: buffer allocation size is zero
8/22/11 10:23:10.785 AM iPhoto: *** WARNING: Method selectedRowEnumerator in class AlbumView is deprecated. It will be removed in a future release and should no longer be used.
8/22/11 10:02:31.629 AM iPhoto: CFURLCreateWithString was passed this invalid URL string: '/Applications/iPhoto.app' (a file system path instead of an URL string). The URL created will not work with most file URL functions. CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPath or CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPathRelativeToBase should be used instead.
Interesting. Seems like there isn't just some third-party app doing this.
I'm not sure why this is happening to you. Doesn't seem to be anyone else with the same issue.
I would take it to the Genius Bar and see what they have to say.
Asked two genius bar guys and they said they had never seen this happen nor did they know why it occurs. (They were viewing my computer at the time)
Wow, really? And they didn't try to fix it?
Unlikely that I can suggest anything remotely that they wouldn't have already suggested when seeing it first-hand.
But I'll try.
Do you have anything on your system that could be alter how the system works? Any sort of third-party program or extension that does maintenance? Like anti-virus, or security, or clean-up, or "make your Mac run better" software?
The only program that comes to mind is Onyx 2.4. No anti-virus/security programs.
My thinking is that you may have used Onyx to change a setting -- and that is what is causing this.
Will give it a look-see! Thanks Gary, not only for this needed assistance but for all your videos, forum help, etc. Love being able to watch the videos rather than always reading technical notes. Many thanks!!
Uninstalled Onyx and still have the same problem. Perhaps I need to check out any new genius at the Apple bar. Has anyone else reported this problem? Thanks Gary!
Uninstalling Onyx won't necessarily help. Onyx is a utility where you can change settings on your Mac. If you used it to change some setting a while back, then uninstalling Onyx won't restore that setting.
Finally have discovered that my problem was 3rd party software from VZ. Thanks for putting me on the right track. (Even the party I spoke with at the Genius Bar looks to your forum for information/solutions.) Love your informative videos!
