How Do I Authorize My Computer?

I’m attempting to sync my iPhone 7 with iTunes on my MacBook Air. An alert pops up telling me a certain app was not installed because I’m not authorized for it on this computer.

It says, “To authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes store, choose Account > Authorizations > Authorize This Computer”

I did that, and it said this computer was already authorized. So I attempted the sync again, but got the same message telling me I’m not authorized for that app on this computer.

Obviously, I’m missing something here. If you’re able to point it out to me, I’d be most appreciative.

What is probably happening is that this particular app was purchased using a different Apple ID. When you go to Authorize This Computer, you are probably using your current/main Apple ID which you are already using. But this app needs another ID, perhaps one you have used in the past, or one you logged in with at one point and then purchased this app.
One option is to authorize using this other Apple ID. This should allow it. Another option is to delete this app from your iPhone, and then re-purchase it (hopefully it is a free app) using your current/main Apple ID so you no longer need that other Apple ID.
The second option is really your only option if this is an old Apple ID that you no longer have access to or can't remember.

You're right. It was purchased using a different ID. Thanks, Gary.
