I’m creating a medical questionaire on Numbers for Mac
Column one is check boxes, column 2 is health conditions.
Question is asked, Do you have ……….? If so click on check box.
[ ] High Blood Pressure
If this check box is checked, would like conditional highlighting to highlight the High Blood Pressure cell.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

So conditional formatting works on the current cell. You can highlight a cell based on the value of another cell. At least not in the way you want.
Instead, you would use a function (IF) to place a value in another cell based on the value of the first. So if cell B2 is true, then you can place the value of "High Blood Pressure Warning" into C2, otherwise leave it blank or put "Blood Pressure OK" into C2. Then use conditional formatting to change the background color of the cell if it is equal to "High Blood Pressure Warning." This should be close enough to what you want, I think.
